  • Abstract
As the various applications in the industry demands the speed of operation to exchange data between different electronic modules in a network. With the simple design and low cost in mind, this can be realized by using a Controller area network (CAN) controller (PIC18F4580) a CAN transceiver (MCP2551) with the help of decoders/encoders using a RF Transmitter/Receiver. Cross channel data link refers to computers connected in ring configuration with a wire or usually optical fibre cable. In order to overcome the conflictions bought from CAN Controller and bus configuration, made use of MAX232 which converts the voltage required by the PC/ CAN module. Advantage of using CAN module is the speed of operation (1 Mbps), using a decoder and RF transmitter/receiver, the data can be transmitted/received with the high speed of CAN operation. The decoding of message ensures the safe & reliable communication. Interfacing sensors could prove vital in securing data. It could replace the wireless CAN interface card which is of high price in the current market for reasons of simple configuration & low cost.
