Abstract :
The Ocean Sensing Current Radar (OSCR) is a remote sensing tool developed first by Marex and then Marconi for the production of ocean current maps over a 50 km radius. It can be set up either on a coastline or platform. At the University of Sheffield research is being undertaken into the production of full ocean wave spectra from the returned radar backscatter. Results in this paper are taken from an experiment held off the Holderness coast in East Yorkshire between November 1995 and January 1996
