Abstract :
Synchronization aspects related to Q2PSK (quadrature-quadrature phase-shift keying) modulated signals studied. Theoretical analysis of a fourth-power carried and clock regenerator is carried out, and the optimum demodulator sensitivity to synchronization errors is discussed. The analysis shows the substantial robustness of Q 2PSK to carrier phase errors, but also its remarkable sensitivity to symbol timing inaccuracy. On the other side, the good carrier synchronization capability of the proposed self-synchronization scheme is demonstrated, along with its not completely adequate clock recovery performance. Theoretical results are confirmed and integrated by a Monte Carlo time-domain system simulation
