Abstract :
A prototype 6-MHz coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (COFDM-6) modem for digital television (DTV) transmission was developed in Scandinavia by HD-Divine and Sintef Delab. The Communications Research Centre (CRC) tested the modem in its transmission laboratory and conducted field tests in VHF in 1995. In June 1996, the CRC conducted laboratory and field tests in the Ka-band with a prototype Local Multipoint Communication Systems (LMCS) transmitter-receiver built at CRC. The results presented below, show that COFDM could be used for LMCS
