  • Abstract
Taking the development of e-government in Yunnan Province as an example, this paper argues that there are five basic functions of e-government: publishing government information, providing an online service, accelerating resource-sharing, improving administrative efficiency. More importantly, this paper points out that developing e-government during an information era is an important step in creating a new modern and service-centered government.
