Abstract
Having developed for several decades, Wuhan has set up an industrial layout with steel, automobile, mechanic equipments, electronic information, petrochemical, textile clothing, food tobacco, biological medicine, energy and environmental protection, and paper-making and packing. In the coming five years, the industry in Wuhan will stride forward to the modern industrial base. So, the municipal government in Wuhan has made a strategic choice of its important industries. What is the theoretical foundation of its industrial choice? The paper applies the grey correlation model to study the topic and finally concludes that a close correlation exists between the chosen important industries and the economic development in Wuhan, which verifies the science and the rationality in choosing the important industries in Wuhan.
