Abstract :
This paper presents an efficient algorithm for reducing and dynamically controlling the computational complexity of an H.264 video encoder implemented in software. We also therefore address a power-aware Motion Estimator for H.264 which can adapt at run time according to the available energy level. Experiments prove that our algorithm is not only dramatically improve the performance of resource constrained multimedia systems but also can optimize the rate distortion optimization procedure to the four groups selectively.
