Abstract
A four-phase model based on Markov chain is developed by this paper to describe the transformation process of project organization. Compared with existing research methods, the proposed model, which combines the advantages of both qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, provides a new approach into managing organizational transformation and it shows that the transformation of a project organization is influenced by different factors but mainly depends on the comparison of operational inertia and changing pressure. Finally, an example of simulation given by this paper validates this proposition.
