Abstract :
Deeply influenced by the planning economic system, China´s engineering consulting industry still lag behind the international norm, although the consulting concept has been introduced into mainland for about 20 years. The insufficient regulations and irrational enterprise system severely restrains the development of China´s engineering consulting industry. After entering the WTO, China´s consulting enterprises will confront more crucial competition. In order to make Chinese consulting firms survive in the competition, the industry must be reformed. This paper will first analysis the current problem exists in industry and then find out the root of weakness, finally propose recommendations on financial, legislative and institutional aspects, to promote the reformation in China´s engineering consulting industry.
