Abstract
In this paper, a power management system (PMS) for direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) is proposed. The proposed PMS consists of interfaces for external devices, a controller, a DC/DC converter, a display, relay switches and current sensors. The power management algorithm is based on the experimentally obtained characteristics of a DMFC module. The proposed power management algorithm increased the running time of DMFC module by 61% from the existing algorithm for the same volume of methanol.
