Abstract :
Demand is increasing for higher data rate in wireless communications in order to keep up with the remarkable speed-up of fiber-optic networks such as Ethernet LANs. One of the most direct and easiest ways to achieve a higher data rate of >10 Gb/s is to increase carrier frequencies to sub-terahertz frequency of over 100 GHz. In my talk, based on our recent challenges for realizing 10-Gb/s wireless link using a 120-GHz-band, I will discuss enabling photonic and electronic devices for the development of future high-speed wireless access systems.
