Abstract
The initial investment by direct to home MPEG2/DVB digital television service providers has generated the need for local network operators to transfer these compressed video data streams from one medium to another for local service delivery. Issues surrounding this transfer are far more complex than the current analogue systems in place today. There is, however, a range of solutions each offering greater flexibility and control but requiring additional processing of the data stream and therefore additional equipment cost. This paper describes the data processing requirements focusing on the correction of service information (SI) and programme specific information (PSI)
