Abstract
Localization is important for RFID applications. In this paper, the root-Multiple Signal Classification(root-MUSIC) algorithm is implemented on FPGA of the NI PXIe platform. Two receiver antennas are used to detect the direction of arrival(DoA) of an RF signal at 915 MHz in an indoor environment. The two signal lines were synchronized and then recorded for offline processing. The distance from the generator to the antennas was varied from 1 to 5 feet in steps of 1 foot. The directions are reported to a resolution of 9 degrees. Results show that DoA estimates are reliable up to 68 degrees from the center axis and are more accurate for greater distances.
