Abstract :
In this paper, considerations on the simulation of single-speed, multi-connection (or multi-flux level), three-phase, squirrel-cage, induction motors using the per-phase exact equivalent circuit, with fixed voltage, are discussed. The principles discussed also apply to simple star-delta connection change. Simulated and experimental results are presented, validating the proposed simulation strategy and, additionally, evidencing the advantages associated with the stator winding connection change as a function of the motor actual load.
