Abstract :
SAW Resonator devices fabricated on the LST-cut of quartz have been reported to have a greater frequency-temperature stability than devices on the ST-cut of quartz. The temperature characteristics reported thus far has been sensitive to metallization thickness and the Euler angles for the cut. The delay lines we built on LST-cut quartz exhibited a center frequency shift of less than 200 ppm over a temperature range of 20°C to 100°C. This result is in agreement with previously published results. Herein we explore the temperature characteristics of LST-cut quartz SAW delay lines. We will explore various delay lines using both gold and aluminum metallization for the IDT
