Abstract :
The influence of timing on the performance of baudspaced crosspolar interference cancellers is investigated. Three different timing schemes are considered with respect to their efficiency assuming baudspaced signal processing. To exploit the full potential of baudspaced cross-polar interference canceller and adaptive equalizer (XPIC-ATDE) signal processing, synchronized data rates in the V and H channels are shown to be favorable. An appropriate timing instant is presented for sampling of the XPIC input signal in conjunction with elastic stores. It is concluded that with the proposed solutions, cancellation capabilities can be achieved which maintain the system availability and transmission quality of multilevel digital radio systems with cochannel operation under severe cross-polarization interference
