Abstract :
This paper describes procedures for evaluating power quality problems that involve interaction between the utility supply system and end user systems and equipment. First, the most important categories of power quality concerns are defined (steady state voltage characteristics, harmonic distortion, transients, short duration voltage variations, and voltage fluctuations) and then evaluations that need to be performed at each level of the power system are identified. Calculations and measurements required for the evaluations are developed. Finally, the concept for a complete workbook that encompasses these procedures is presented
