Abstract :
This paper reports on the analysis of some of the most important nonlinear distortion generation mechanisms present in modern wireless polar transmitters. Starting by a conceptual system level description of the transmitter under a traditional two-tone excitation, it identifies the key sources of fidelity impairments, building an analytical model of its nonlinearities. Nonlinear measurement and simulation results made on a real power amplifier circuit of a polar transmitter architecture validate the proposed analytical distortion model.
