  • Abstract
Remanufacturing is a necessary choice in order to develop a circular economy of the automotive industry. The key question is how to improve the system reliability of remanufactured products. First, this paper points out the reliability requirements of remanufactured systems. Then it analyzes systematically the similarities and differences between the manufacturing, remanufacturing and repairing process. The research puts forward four remanufacturing modes, such as reuse mode, updating mode, amelioration mode and reset mode in accordance with the different constructor of the remanufactured system. Finally, the reliability design of remanufacturing is defined and the reliability prediction and allocation methods are investigated.
