Abstract :
An analysis of the design processes currently used pinpoints common problems and characteristics. A closer view of the design process analysis shows that common tools for design support can be built-on these common characteristics these common tools are based on a product-process model and are aimed towards a cooperative work of designers (including the designers of manufacturing processes) in a distributed design environment. The concepts underlying this design management approach are presented
