Abstract :
In this paper, a good welding performance of submerged-arc hardfacing flux-cored wire has been developed to repair surface of the roll, and the microstructure, degree of hardness and wear-resisting property of its deposited metal samples are also investigated. It is found that the hardness of the hardfacing metal is homogeneously distributed and the microstructure is martensite, residual austenite and carbonitride precipitates. As a result, the hardfacing metal with homogeneous distribution of very fine carbonitride particles has a best wear-resisting property, which can significantly extend the service life of the roll.
