Abstract :
This paper is concerned with automation of the “clear-out” inspection on the Shinkansen tracks carried out every morning before the day´s train operation. This is anticipated to be achieved via the development of a reliable method for an image processor and automated vehicle operation installed on an inspection car. The results of the experimental application demonstrates the validity of this system in terms of accuracy and robustness of detection
