Abstract :
The message delivery time on a low earth orbit (LEO) satellite network is analyzed in this paper. The LEO network is assumed to be seamless and virtual cut-through switching is proposed for use. The virtual cut-through switching technique is used to overlap the message delivery time with the long path setup time, caused by long distance between satellites. Equations to calculate the message delivery time and the probability of a message being delivered successfully using no more than a time delay bound are presented in this paper. Numerical examples are also given in the paper
