Abstract :
Performance of bismuth germanate and lithium niobate crystals in an extra-low-frequency (ELF) and DC electrooptic sensor was investigated experimentally. Unwanted effects of conductivity, photoconductivity and stimulated conductivity of the crystals are reported. It is shown that only lithium niobate can be used as a DC field sensor.
