Abstract
In this paper, we propose a buffer management scheme in ATM networks using two different prioritized state-dependent service disciplines to improve the quality of service of delay time for each traffic class and reduce the cell loss rate of loss-sensitive class. We also analyse the delay time and the cell loss rate for each class of traffic. The results indicate that in the proposed state-dependent priority schemes, the delay time of one traffic class greatly decreases while that of the other traffic class increases slightly and the required buffer size for achieving the same cell loss rate of loss-sensitive class is also reduced
