Abstract :
From a neurophysiological point of view, to generate a temporal sequence is equivalent to correctly synchronize in time, patterns which are already known by the brain (e.g. the phonemes which compose the words). In this paper, we propose an architecture for representing the patterns based on a two-dimensional map, where the processing elements are micro-columns composed by three elements in cascade. The map is the common substrate exploited both in the generation and in the perception phase (i.e. during the observation and learning process of a new sequence).
