  • Abstract
    This paper presents a novel transition for the 94-GHz range between coplanar waveguide and substrate integrated image guide (SIIG), a synthesized version of the dielectric image guide. It provides low radiation and insertion loss over a 15-GHz bandwidth and its simple construction is compatible with planar integrated circuits. With these properties, it is an ideal interface between millimeter-wave monolithic integrated circuits (MIMICs) and extensive passive components such as antenna arrays, resonators, and bandpass filters, which depend on a low loss technology like SIIG.
