Abstract :
A synthesizer based on a fractional divider concept for generating highly linear analog frequency ramps is presented. Numerical simulations promise a very good precision of such a ramp generator which has been proved by implementing a prototype synthesizer circuit in a FMCW-radar system. The simulations as well as the measurements obtained with the prototype circuit are shown.
