Abstract
Urban rail transit brings the benefits of various aspects of society has become a worldwide consensus. When emplacing the stations on network, taking into account the high cost of rail transportation, we not only consider actualizing the optimized network as a whole, but also consider improving the operating efficiency of every line. For a given rail transit line, emplacing the station reasonably can increase the attraction of lines, expand the coverage of the stations and improve the operating efficiency. Therefore, a new method of emplacing stations was found to improve the line coverage of trips:Firstly, searching the distributing center of passenger flow on the line to produce various stations-distribution projects; then, emplacing the stations by considering the constraints of the space between each ones. For the projects with the same number of the sites, the project of which the network can cover the largest trips is the optimal one; otherwise, for the projects which have different numbers of sites, the best one can be chosen by integrative evaluation. Finally, an example was taken to certificate the operation of the method and take reference for researchers.
