Abstract :
In this paper it is presented a comparative study for verifying the design of a low power Linear Switched Reluctance Machine (LSRM), based on the simulation of the LSRM design - using 2-D finite element analysis (FEA) and magnetic circuit analysis (MCA) - and measurement of its static electromagnetic characteristics - using three different methods. All simulation and measurement tasks were achieved using a low cost PC. In the case of the measurement tasks, it was also used a data acquisition (DAQ) board integrated to LabViewreg software.
