Abstract :
A novel retrodirective array consisting of a single-VCO frequency-scanned array with phase-detecting control circuitry is presented. An analog third-order polynomial control circuit is used to precision-match the phase detection error voltage to the VCO tuning voltage characteristic for accurate steering. The interrogator and retrodirective transmit frequencies are 1.0 GHz and 7.3 GHz, respectively. Retro-directivity is reported for angles of 0deg, -20deg, and +15deg.
