Abstract
Finite element method is now widely used to analyze and design rotating electrical machines, since computation time has widely reduced especially in 2D. But the design of the drive can´t be dissociated. On the one hand, finite element needs an accurate model of the command for a better evaluation of the efficiency, and on the other hand the system simulation often needs to take into account the level of saturation in the machine, eddy currents or torque ripples. That´s why we worked to develop coupling between Finite element software and system simulation tools easier to use for the designer.
