Abstract :
The construction of optical subscriber loops and their operation systems are important for the information society of the future. The optical cable network will be changed and up-graded as the service evolves. This paper stresses the need for a flexible optical cable network operation system to cope with these network changes. We discuss the platform for flexible cable network operations and flexible application programs using the proposed atomic task and virtual atomic task concept. The concept of a unit platform is also proposed. Both platform and flexible application programs are designed based on object-oriented technology and their prototypes are discussed
