Abstract
The aim of this paper consists in the characterization of a Linear Reluctance Actuator. Despite being designed with different purposes, Linear Switched Reluctance Machines (LSRM) and Linear Reluctance Actuators (LRA) share the same principles of operation, so the presented study is valid both for LSRM and LRA. This paper analyses several actuators with different dimensions, and for each one the magnetic curves are explored in order to develop a faster methodology to determine the magnetization characteristics based on machine dimensions.
