Abstract
In welding of bellows, the quality and speed of welding is affected by the technique and emotion of worker. The automatic welding system based on measurement was proposed. This system is composed of laser line scanner, motion control system, machine part, and so on. The profiles of bellows were measured using laser line scanner, then the data of the profile points were transmitted via the FireWire IEEE1394a interface. The X and Z coordinates of welding points were extracted and send to Baldor controller to control the movement of welding torch. Experiments show that the system has many merits, such as high control precision and ready operating, the operation of the welding system is steady.
