Abstract
The James Clerk Maxwell Telescope is the world´s largest dish designed specifically for use at submillimetre wavelengths (0.3-3 mm). It is also, by any objective measure, the world´s most productive submillimetre observatory. The telescope, the site, the instrumentation suite and the future scientific programme are presented in this paper.
