Abstract :
ArbNet-II is a local network intended to provide an alternate local network solution that is robust and flexible in configuration, and is capable of supporting concurrent transmissions at the packet level. The network consists of two main components, the network interface unit and the switch; the former performs medium access control while the latter routes packets within the sub-network. This paper focuses on the design and implementation experience of an experimental prototype network, and presents the results of a preliminary performance measurement
