Abstract
Based on the 2009 year-end cross-sectional statistical data of 31 provincial regions in China, the positive research of econometrics model shows clearly that, the major macroscopic structural factors to significantly influence regional economic development level (Per Capita GDP) in China are the urban-rural population structure (Urban Population Proportion), the employment structure (Employed Persons Proportion of Nonagricultural Industry) and the deviated degree of industrial structure to employment structure (Industrial Structure Deviation), while the influences of other factors or variables such as Value-added Proportion of Nonagricultural Industry, Urban/Rural Consumption Ratio, Final Consumption Rate, Capital Formation Rate and Natural Growth Rate of Population are not significant. Therefore, in order to further increase regional economic development level in China, it is necessary to quickly remove the institutional obstacles of dual urban-rural segmentation in various regions and establish the urban-rural integrated labor market, to accelerate the course of industrialization and urbanization, raise the urbanization rate based on strengthening service economy and perfect the urban-rural population structure, to increase the potency dimensions of urban-rural human resource development, promote the nonagricultural employment level, optimize the employment structure, and improve the rationalization, upgrading and service degree of industrial structure.
