Abstract
We propose a THz-wave device for the nondestructive detection of illicit drugs and hazardous substances hidden in sealed envelopes. A fast process of selecting suspicious envelopes is realized by monitoring the THz waves scattered from the target. Experimental results on this powder detection technique are presented.
