Abstract :
The possibility of obtaining a dispersion optimised single-mode single-polarisation fibre, characterised by zero total chromatic dispersion at λ=1.55 μm, is demonstrated. By means of an efficient F.E.M approach, a W-type fibre is proposed to this goal and the role of the various design parameters is discussed in a comprehensive way
