Abstract :
Estelle currently does not support protocol design using ASN.1 notation. Estelle and ASN.1 have been developed independently of each other. As such, ASN.1 does not support Estelle and vice versa. However, at present, due to these two separate specifications, implementation is time consuming. Therefore, it is imperative to find a way in which ASN.1 and Estelle can be efficiently integrated to facilitate automatic implementation. This paper presents an approach on how ASN.1 specification can be translated into Estelle using Abstract Data Types (ADTs) technique. The ADTs interfaces provide all the information required by the users to write Estelle specification
