Abstract
For the first time, analytical-based solution of scattering from multiple general-shaped groove in a perfectly conducting plane is presented. The formulation, for the near as well as far-field, is based on Fourier-integral representation of the scattered field and stair-case approximation of the groove field. The near and far-field results for the special case of six rectangular grooves are compared with those obtained from HFSS and previously published results. New results for the near-and far-field of nine isosceles right triangle grooves are also presented. It was noticed that the number of groove layers and retained unknown harmonics coefficients of the groove field has significant effect on the near-field and little effect on the far-field calculations.
