Abstract
This paper presents the measurement and characterization of a tropical forested channel with SIMO system in Singapore. Complex channel impulse response measurements were taken at 240MHz while keeping both the transmit antenna and the receive antennas static. The measured power delay profiles indicate significant multipath components besides the dominant propagating wave. Studies of the spatial correlation coefficients of the multiple receive antennas show that the antenna coupling effect can cause a reduction in the signal correlation. The lateral wave in the forested propagation produces a "keyhole" effect on the interested channel.
