Abstract :
An Integrated Services Local Network (ISLN) was designed by attaching an Integrated Services (IS) part to the Local Area Network (LAN) station. For the purpose of adapting current LANs with the future Integrated Services Digital Networks (ISDNs), the IS part is an implementation of ISDN teleservices. The rules of the design are compatibility with LAN, independence in evolution, and interoperability with ISDN. Detailed considerations of the design are described. Trials showed the feasibility of the design
