  • Abstract
Some effects on delay-time and throughput characteristics of dividing a CSMA/CD LAN into some segments (the method is called `segmentization´) using bridges are studied. Though the segmentization improves those characteristics in some degree, this depends on the performance of used bridges mainly. In this paper, the degree of improvement is studied precisely using the simulated results in the simplest dividing topology system quantitatively. The effects of some other factors such as the buffer capacity, traffics, frame length and so on are pointed out
