Abstract :
The Trouble Administration (TA) application capabilities include: ability of the customers to report troubles on circuits, facilities, and other network resources to the service provider; ability of the service provider to notify the customer of the trouble resolution process: and mutual report clearing and closure. ANSI standardized the TA application as the T1.227 and T1.228 standards. The Network Management Forum (NMF) specification on TA is: NM Forum 024, Application Services: Trouble Management Function: Forum 024 (which is aligned with ANSI T1.227 and T1.228 standards). This paper explains four areas. First, the ANSI T1.227 and T1.228 standards are described. Second, the NM Forum 024 specification is described. Third, the translation of the TA standards into requirements is described. Finally, a summary of the discussion is captured. The discussion should be useful to those planning implementation of TA application, in particular, and an OSI standard in general
