  • Abstract
B-ISDN is emerging and requires high speed networks to carry its traffic. Multimedia applications are being developed. Synchronous Transfer Mode (STM) and Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) are two techniques for the switching and transport of high-speed data and consequently are suitable to convey multimedia application traffic. This paper presents several methods of conveying ATM cells using transputer T9000 links. The paper describes an architecture to implement a bridge between ATM and SDH using the T9000 with regard to the optimisation of the transport capabilities to convey multimedia traffic
