Abstract :
A design of bow-tie dual-frequency microstrip antenna is proposed for L and S bands application. A single layer dual-frequency microstrip antenna is designed in this paper, which used bow-tie geometry with an approximate U-shaped slot embedded near the one of two radiation edges, and has the virtues of saving space and agility in construction. The simulated result shows that various frequency ratios can be tuned by changing the length of the arm of the U-shaped slot. Antenna for PCS/WLAN is presented for this kind of structure and the simulated results shows the return loss of -18.476dB is achieved at the first resonant frequency of 1.888GHz and -28.644dB is obtained at the second resonant frequency of 2.434GHz. The antenna gives a good radiation performance.
