Abstract :
Conventional Orthogonal Frequency Division Modulation (OFDM) signals, formed as a weighted sum of complex sinusoids, exhibit an undesirably high peak to average power ratio (PAPR). A number of iterative techniques that modify the OFDM spectral symbol mapping process or selectively modify the localized time domain envelope have been developed to reduce this PAPR. This paper examines and compares two non-iterative techniques that directly form OFDM signals with inherently low, in fact impressively low, PAPR.
