Abstract :
The authors derive a numerical scheme which can be used to solve the parameter identification problem for one-dimensional hyperbolic equations. In order to treat the piecewise smooth function case, the authors choose a difference scheme which is based on an integral identity. Several numerical experiments, including the case where a (x) is piecewise constant, are carried out
